I need to get out of London and get some fresh air. I would be really gratefull if anyone can suggest anything that fits the following requirement:
Good location for a weekend's walking for some one with in 30s with good fitness
- Accessible by train (and a short taxi ride) from London
- Dramatic scenary
- Arrive late Friday depart Sunday pm
- Happy to either camp or stay in pub

hi mate,
catch the train to penzance, no need for taxi, walk to falmouth ( around the Lizard) pubs, b n b, hotel in lizard/ porthleven, nice easy walk, perfect for weekend.......

Alteratively hop on a train on Victoria and come down to Kent - we have north downs way/pilgrims way on the North Downs, a national trail.
Not quite the Lake District but lots of pubs/b&B's en-route, and some great scenery. You can get guide books with routes in but its fairly obvious When you've had enough you can hop on a train back to London. Check out
