Yorkshire Sculpture Park
« on: 11:32:09, 27/03/17 »
Yesterdays sun and a shoulder that was killing me (so no rucksack, hence a localish shortish walk) saw me visit the sculpture park, parking for free in the village of West Bretton n walking to the park, rather than pay up to £8 (all day fee) to park in the park, as it were.

chapel plus art in the park grounds

ultimate nonsense, read all this then see next pic

yep that's right, the artwork is a flight of steps! Or rather a repair of the prev. ones that were there! ;D

wood anemones

grounds, daffs n hall looked a picture in the sunlight.

this is a good one, a moving image of a horse, constantly galloping

pleased to say that kids ignore this!

odd sculpture of a giant rabbit split in two, camellia greenhouse behind it

The whole place was heaving with ruddy trippers! Shouldn't be allowed ;D

Babby lambs  :smitten:

Not sure about the brightly coloured sculpture thing, not to my taste. Some of the other sculptures are a bit "out of place" IMHO, they don't look very natural  :-\

It was nice weather this weekend  :) What have you done to your shoulder?

Yes, tourists are on the banned list, we were in Edinburgh on Saturday, bleddy heaving with them all  :D

Enjoyed that, cheers Pleb...  O0

I quite liked most of the sculptures. The ones in the last picture reminded me of the rock formations you get around the Peak District - or what they'd look like  if they'd been designed by Dali rather than centuries of weather!  ;D

A lot of these type of rock formations are quite striking.

I always like this as a 'record sleeve' design ;

For anyone interested and if you look closely you can make out climbers on the rocks - the best of both worlds hey ?  - music and rock climbing  ;)

They remind me of Brimham rocks, very strongly.

That is pretty impressive, Innominate Man - without the climbers to reveal the incredible size of it you'd think it was something someone had made with pebbles at the beach. Do you know where it is? The USA, maybe?
