Not open my presents yet.  But I am hopeful there may be some hiding under the tree. ;)

Merino socks. Ultralight balaclava and a lightweight fleece. Oh and some heat socks for outside overnighters. 40l and 25l dry bags.

I didn't even hint for any of these this year.
I wonder if the family are wanting me out of the house more often?
Too little, too late, too bad......

I got my present about 10 days ago
I have loads of gear, and don't really need anything else, but Go Outdoors sent me a leaflet about further reductions on their sale items

I got some jackets for my Grandsons, and treated myself to another pair of trail shoes - Merrell MQM for £45

Hiking socks, new fleece, Lonely Planet book about Epic Hikes. Also the OS Quiz book - I'd seen this when I was in Waterstones and thought Someone will probably buy me that for Christmas! Pretty much all my presents, except some aftershave, are walking related. ;D

I also saw the OS quiz book in Waterstones and thought I would get a copy, which I did.
I got a Silva map measuring gadget.
I also got the Andy Beck Wainwrights in Colour book and Lost on the Appalachian Trail by Kyle Rohrig.
My kids got OS maps in their stockings from Rudolph.

A new set of binoculars. The lens had gone in the old ones. Great for looking at the route ahead and for identifying LBJs.

My wife and I do not go in for present buying but when we had the family Christmas meal today, my cracker had a very nice little notebook in it. I always carry one where ever I go so this will be very useful.

My wife has told me that if I can find a suitable hiking blanket in the new year she will buy it for me!

I did get a 'present' though on Christmas Eve, a letter from the NHS saying that I do NOT have bowel cancer! Great timing. I'm of that age now when we are tested routinely.

A rather posh Silva map case.
A friend in Cardiff ive known for many years, sent me it for Christmas, along with a high quality car washing mitt.
The last high quality map case i owned, was some years ago, ive misplaced it, so having a new one is a worthy pressy.
Imagine if i had a pair of socks or wooly scarf.

I know the Silva cases cost good money, so i must be well liked.

Walking related presents were Altberg boot cleaning kit, and a guide book on the Coast to Coast by Trailblazer for planning a future crossing from my wife. an Anemometer from my daughter to give a more accurate weather report on my blogs.
And 12 months subscription to Trail magazine from my son plus this months edition. Very pleased with that  O0
