Aonach Eagach Fatality
« on: 22:14:25, 26/07/16 »
Sadly, a walker died on the Aonach Eagach ridge in Glencoe on Saturday. I Know lots of folks on here have traversed this route safely. Some of us will remember our visit to the local MRT base. Sombre thoughts.......

Read about it last night briefly on the BBC.  Only 44 years old.  RIP.

Not sure what your link is about, seems to want me to answer a load of questions to read it.

I used to get that, (Google Surveys) using Firefox but I believe it also happens with other browsers, was something to do with add on's and extensions, try Googling "disable google survey) and whatever browser you are using for solutions.

I don't know anything about that. When I open the link it takes me to the daily record page giving the details of the man that died. Sorry

An earlier incident.

http://www.grough.co.uk/magazine/2009/07/19/second-ridge-walkers-death-prompts-safety-calls

Slogger that link is from 2009. Lots of people were coming down the Clachaig Gully which in 2007 - 2009 had become dangerous. It's not actually on the ridge itself but many used to use as a quick way to get down from the second Munro. Since 2009 it's clearly marked as dangerous and as far as I know no one would be daft enough to try and descend that route anymore.
