It's part of the West Pennine Moors - around 90 sq. miles of moorland and water catchment between Rossendale,Blackburn, Chorley and Bolton. The area we were in on Friday is only about ten minutes drive from Chorley town centre. The area actually has its own "Three Peaks" of Great Hill, Winter Hill and Rivington Pike that I usually do in the summer, a circuit of about twenty miles if you start and finish the walk by the Leeds - Liverpool Canal in Chorley.
