Problem with my Mi-Fi. Solved!
« on: 11:48:34, 13/01/20 »
I bought a MiFi from the Three shop three years ago and always put £10 PAYG data on it to use when I was hiking in France or Spain. I could never get it to work and always had to revert back to the data on my phone. I phoned Three and have visited the staff in the shop so many times but no one has ever solved my problem. I now know what to do, thanks to a teenage girl who sat near me with her parents whilst we were all having pizzas.

She watched me struggling and getting irritated with it and asked if she could help. I explained what I wanted it to do and she knew instantly how to help me! She switched on my MiFi and waited until the screen said 'no signal.'

She then opened up the browser on my phone, typed in 192.168.1.1 and the Three MiFi page opened up. She then typed in 'admin' and then touched the 'status' button that displayed. She then touched the button 'connect' and lo and behold my MiFi worked!!!

Now why don't the Three staff know this? Now my maps and everything else works that much faster. Brilliant!

Which screen. My mifi doesn't have a screen.  Just a central button and some lights one of which is for the battery. One looks like an envelope and the other I take to show it is getting a signal.
Too little, too late, too bad......

I have both, the oval version with the central button which I think yours is as well? My other one is a rectangular Huawei one with information screen and push-button, I use this one mainly because I think it works better.

I bought 4GB of data from Three and I don't think I used much of it at all, now I'm back in the UK I don't have a need for it now and as always the data only has a life expediency of 28 days, so my data runs out on Jan 29th.

If anyone wants to use the rest of my allowance in their phone or mi-fi just let me know and I'll post you the SIM card. All I ask is when it's finished can you send the SIM back to me.
