I am bored enough to break the habit of a life time and do my own front door trip report.
From my door down the main drag into the village. The lads and I planted those daffs last year and another 5000 like them round the village

Our pub the Mitre. The halfway point for the Two Moors Way.

and into The Square to our shopping centre. The 2MW comes in through the ginnel to the left of the shop.

The rest of the shops and church

This is the dead centre of the village

Out of the village down Cardiac Hill - the road passes for a motorway as there is no grass up the middle
(https://i.postimg.cc/nzt5ztqh/6.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
to the River Dart. There are quite a few Darts in Devon, it is a bit like Avon in that it means River. This Dart is the Little Dart

From there I head into the woods. The path goes into the wood by a former mill and follows the line of a long disused leat.

The Primroses are still going strong

This is Yeo Copse. No sign of Bluebells yet - too cold and the slope faces N.

At one point you can drop down the the river. The blocks once diverted water into the leat. Now it is favourite spot for dogs to play. I bring my daughter's dog here to play fetch in the stream - she loves it.

At the end of the wood, the 2MW comes down the hill to join the path. I shall go back that way.

As you come out of the woods a bridge carries the 2MW over a tributary.
(https://i.postimg.cc/TYgqQWbh/13.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
The 2MW crosses this field but there is no path to follow and navigation gets a bit tricky for a couple of fields. There is the odd path but they are made by sheep who are not headed your way,
(https://i.postimg.cc/ydj2Db14/14.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
At the far end of the fields there is a boardwalk across a big boggy section.
(https://i.postimg.cc/vBTtvq7d/15.jpg) (https://postimages.org/)
But the boardwalk is not as long as the boggy bit! Experience tells me there are two more boggy sections to go and they will both be worse so time to turn back.

Back into the woods. The gate was left open for me, we are not uncivilised down here.

Out of the woods and back up the hill towards home,

Social distance your way out of that. Hope no-one is going the other way

Lovely photos ninthace, definitely worthy of a TR whether they are from your door or not.
The areas on our local walks that were virtually impassable a couple of weeks ago are now much drier.

Thanks Ridge, the reason for the walk really was to see if things had dried out enough to get off the roads.

Nice pics! I was out locally today and happily the fields have dried out a lot round here... Unfortunately though the local dog owners seem to be taking advantage of the fact that there's no-one around and many seem to have stopped clearing up after their dog!! :tickedoff:
-
I like the final photo - an excellent example of the type of path I've been avoiding for the last few weeks!
-
Some familiar scenes there ninthace. Seems a long time ago since we met you in the Mitre! Are they surviving by doing takeaways? Our local is.

They are indeed. I had an excellent goat curry tomight. Unfortunately it no longer comes with a pint as it did last week.

Eeehhh, enjoyed that. Cheers.
"dead centre" ;D ::)
-
I really enjoyed that ninthace, a very pretty village that is O0
Me too ;D "dead centre"
-
More lovely countryside, nice pics O0
The woodland paths near here have almost dried now.
-
Nice photos ninthace O0
'dead centre' made me chuckle too! (evidently, a few of us have the same daft sense of humour! :D )

Thank you. Actually the churchyard is very popular - people are dying to be buried there.

Boom Boom! :D

:) my photos yesterday included one of the dead end path into the graveyard.
Excellent TR. I've not walked the all 2MW - the walk that I was due to lead before you-know-what - took in the section from Fingle bridge to Hittisleigh.
Glad the Mitre is keeping going - too many pubs lost already and no doubt more to follow.
-
Lovely woodland.
Strange how boardwalks never seem to be quite long enough, isn't it?
-
Thanks. The 2MW passes with 100yds of my house. The whole trip was never more that a mile from my house so definitely counts as local O0

"But the boardwalk is not as long as the boggy bit!"
They never are! In fact, the worst bit is always just at either end.
There's a stile near me that's perpetually knee-deep in water with a lovely sucking mud layer below.
