Hi, I'm from Norfolk. I do most of my walking locally in Thetford Forest.

I'm not a birder as such but I believe they nest in the open breckland to the south and east of Thetford but not in the forests to the north and west.

Weeting Heath is the best location, a scope is advisable as they can be difficult to see. Well worth sitting in the hide and waiting, also loads of rabbits being chased by Stoats. Stone Curlews are amazing.

Welcome from Shetland. When I lived in Cambridge I used to cycle to Thetford Forest and camp for weekends - lovely walking.

Welcome from Manchester
I've never walked in Norfolk, I was considering the Peddars Way & Coast Path but some posts and reports here put me off the idea.

Welcome from Orkney.
I know the north coast of Norfolk a little, as my mother has a caravan there, but most of the county is a mystery to me.
