You were lucky to get that shot Tracey.  I occasionally see them on Dartmoor, but by the time I've got the camera out they have slithered away into the undergrowth.

I did the Six Edges walk yesterday in glorious weather 8)   14 lovely miles and even spotted an Adder on Curbar Edge :D   Bit fast for a decent pic...but at least I got one!

I'd say that was a more than decent picture, Sunnydale!  O0  I've never seen an adder in the wild, would love to.

Thanks very much for the comments folks O0

I spot Adders two or three times a year (usually) but rarely manage to get a pic. Really chuffed to get that shot yesterday :D

I think it's a female, btw...not a male!

The last 2-3 weeks I have walked the coast from Westward Ho! to Portishead. Happy now to have completed the South West Coastal Path when arriving at Minehead last week. Great along the way apart from the bit just before Clevedon where it was not possible to access much of the coast.

Progress! Well done

Thank you.

Those few metres are beginning once again to get more than a few metres, but still a long way to go.

Changed my mind. Booked two nights at Mankinholes Youth Hostel for Tues and Wed nights. £7 a night, might as well. The area is good for walking, good choice of paths. Packing a bag.

I did a beautiful walk from Arundel today, taking in the South Downs and the river Arun

The current anticyclone or ridge of high pressure over the Uk, is going nowhere for the next few days, so if i was in the area thinking of a walk, i would attempt Glyder Fawr via the Gribyn Ridge.
Even though it;s early Autumn, the temperature today outside Porthmadog was 18C, and the Snowdon summit cafe  looked simply majestic from the Cobb.

If your stuck for a walk tomorrow, how about tackling Glyder Fawr via the Gribyn Ridge above Llyn Blochwydd.

It's a very easy scramble onto the main Glyder plateau, and one can easily descend by the same route.

One should grasp every opportunity when very high pressure is smack bang over the country, and the Glyders in sunny weather, are amongst the best mountains ( apart from the Carneddau) in Snowdonia.

Hope you have some Broccoli in there somewhere, and a Cauliflower.
A Cauliflower Cheese is a sublime meal, and when i see ultra freshly picked Broccoli, it's manna from heaven with freshly boiled spuds, and possibly some chicken fillets lightly fried with a bit of garnish added.
