Thanks Dovegirl, between Meifod and the reservoir of Lake Vyrnwy there are 5 sections of river that give circular river walks of about 7 miles each. Individually they differ from each other and all are spectacular river walks.

Super walk today with Mrs N. Started at Hartland Quay, inland route to the north coast than back on the SW Coast Path via Hartland Point. Super views and Lundy was really clear.

Went for a pleasant walk round Cosdon Hill on Dartmoor today - came across this little cutie enjoying the sun.

Technically it is a legless lizard but it was miles from the nearest pub so I reckon it must have sobered up by the time I found it.    ;)

I walked today from Uckfield to Newick and from there the Sussex Ouse Valley Way to Isfield.  A pleasant walk in attractive undulating countryside, and very pretty by the river.  Became hot and sunny   :)

That's an amazing display sunnydale.  I haven't seen as many as that in a long time.

Shacklow Woods near Ashford-in-the-Water and Ravensdale (within Cressbrook Dale) are two of the best places in the Peaks for Ramsons.

I've missed them at their 'peak' for the last couple of years...but having done the above walk a couple of weeks ago, I knew they'd be looking pretty good this week 8)

Spent the morning walking through Dunster Forest and over Black Hill near Minehead. Fantastic views of the Bristol Channel coastline and across to Wales but too hazy for a picture unfortunately. Saw the highest tree in England, over 60m. Would have taken a photo to post but I couldn't see the tree for the woods.

After a couple of days walking up hills from Wasdale, I woke up this morning with very low cloud cover, which scuppered my plans ( yet again ) to climb Scafell Pike and surrounding hills.

Rather than just have a lazy day, I decided to have a walk around Wast Water, firstly along the single track road to the NT campsite and car park at Wasdale Head and returned along the path on the other shore.

If anyone has done that path they will understand why I have no intention of doing it again, it didn't help that the rain came on heavy just as I reached the scree and boulder fields.

One more day left, maybe I'll actually see Scafell Pike summit...or is it permanently covered with cloud?
