With another cloudy day, Saturday's walk took the form of a lower level walk through Kilbroney woods. Since climbing Slievemartin in January I've always wanted to return to the forest for some exploration of paths which I wasn't very familiar with. Starting from Rostrevor car park I made my way to the Cloughmore boulder, the first vantage point of the day. Cloughmore boulder offers great views of Carlingford Lough and Slieve Foye. After a short break I ventured in the direction of Slievedermot. I can only imagine in the autumn months these forests must be the place to be. Compared to Tullymore, Donard, Annalong forest, Kilbroney became my favourite one. I picked up the road back to the cafe car park for lunch. Total distance was 5 miles.
