N Dartmoor

Sara and I did 11 miles over the Moor this morning.  A bit overcast but apart from that excellent walking weather

11 miles and 525 metres of climb.  Its a bit flat where we are so I was quite keen to get some hills in preparation for the Lyke Wake, which is now just over two weeks away :-\  The route is quite demanding, I used it years ago to train cadets for the three peaks but offers some lovely views of the North Moor in just about every direction.  It wasn't a "good light" day so not much by way of pics this is the only one really worth a look:

It was a really tough walk but I really enjoyed it. Not sure how I would have managed without the walking poles though.

Hi Bill and Sara

Looks nice.  My ex step daughter lives in Okehampton, still in touch but haven't seen her or her funny husband Ken for a while.  The last time I was up in that area "in anger2 was when I did 10 Tors as an apprentice in the RAF.  Did the Bronze and Gold, chickened out of the silver.

As I recall the Gold was 55miles in 2 days, must have been bonkers/fit one of the two.
