hi
I’m looking for a winter walking skills course (ice axe, crampons, avalanche awareness etc) somewhere with guaranteed snow (I.e. not UK). I thought they’d be something in Alps or Dolomites but can’t find anything (it’s all climbing skills). A course in summer would be even better.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Youre searching the wrong thing, for us its winter skills but in the alps you want to be looking for mountaineering/ alpine skills
First result on google for Chamonix mountaineering skills was https://adventurebase.com/alpine-essential-skills/?gclid=CjwKCAjw8-LnBRAyEiwA6eUMGtjcDasTrhrNXn7TUxC8LYdlg3pqzgMG1SpQhr-WUCNFmQIfF1MSexoC5ZMQAvD_BwE (https://adventurebase.com/alpine-essential-skills/?gclid=CjwKCAjw8-LnBRAyEiwA6eUMGtjcDasTrhrNXn7TUxC8LYdlg3pqzgMG1SpQhr-WUCNFmQIfF1MSexoC5ZMQAvD_BwE)

Glenmore Lodge offer Alpine courses (in the Alps), but these will include problems specific to Alpine climbing, like dealing with crevasses etc.

If you want training for tackling British mountains in winter, then you really would be better off training on the British mountains in winter. I'm sure that the Cairngorms will have sufficient snow!
