Amazing photos, unfortunately that trip is way beyond me nowadays. :-[

Thanks, enjoyed every word and every photo. The GR5 is the one I should have done by now, its just that 'things' have got in the way, maybe next year?

A bit difficult to fit this route into a normal holiday period....around five weeks or so for the entire walk from Lac Leman down to Menton or to Nice?
However sections of the route can be done over shorter periods of holiday days.
We got to the Vanoise area, following a variant the GR55 from Landry down to Modane...a fine route to walk and also the variant in the Mercantour the GR52 after a bus ride up from Nice up to Saint Martin Vestubie...then down to Menton.
