I have heard that Scotch Eggs are bountiful with protein and make excellent nutritious snacks when out walking. Are they as nutritious as marzipan? Anyone know??

The king of protein snacks must surely be the microwave sausage. I understand they are now standard expedition rations, after successful trails in the Cuillin mountains on Skye.
:)
Welcome, Mr. Dale.

I've always been afraid of the traditional banger since I was informed that walls have ears!
The sausages were a treat but next time you can carry the microwave!

lol, i was browsing (very) old threads on here and saw this amusing one. i wonder how many other people have gone through the archive of posts here? i've just started flicking through them and there's pure gold. also repeats of what ive seen posted recently, i guess some things don't change much?

a bag of plain mixed nuts and raisins, go down a treat with me. O0

Surely it has to be a quality pork pie - not one of the supermarket kind

Indeed. I am fortunate in that I have moved to a small town that has an award winning pie maker!

I believe that when estimating midge levels in Scotland they are caught and weighed so there is definitely no shortage of flying protein They would be are an absolute bargain, wholly organic and you get 4 wings and 6 drumsticks with each one.

...and the females can carry a bit of extra protein (and iron)
