I downloaded the Plantnet app in anticipation of identifying this rare and exotic strain but it looks like a dandelion? Am I being dense?

Flickr's broken right now so I can't check.

Flickr's still broken so I can't take another look plus your photos don't seem to allow download so I don't know how to download them without developer tools on a PC. There's an app for Android called Plantnet, I'm sure there is similar for iPhone. It's supposed to identify flowers from a photo and has a good rating in the play store. You could try that.

I'd say a member of the Daisy family, although you probably know that already!
I'll look through my books...but I don't think it's a true wild flower....perhaps a garden escapee of some sort.
Leave it with me.... :D

Nice pics pleb.  My first thought on the yellow flowers was a daisy of some sort too.

Is it Great false leopardbane (Doronicum pardalianches)? That was Plantnet's best guess.

Anybody ID the yellow flowers?

I think they are Inula Helenium though there are lots of Inulas so they could be a cultivated escapee.
Good pics and it looks a lovely walk to me - that footbridge is amazingly narrow; not for the broader amongst us. ;)
So many paths yet to walk, so little time left

Agree with you, ROB, Not an Inula.
The power of the internet v Keble Martin who surprisingly doesn't actually give an illustration of Leopards Bane. :(

Agree with you, Richard. Not an Inula.

You're talking to Richard but quoted me so I assume you just substituted my name for a cooler one.

I was quite impressed with Plantnet. Wasn't 100% the leaves were the same but they definitely looked similar. Suppose having an app ID the plants takes the fun out of it if you possess that skill but the amount of flowers I can ID are very limited, I thought it was a long stemmed dandelion!
