[TR] - Tatra Magic
« on: 07:39:56, 04/11/17 »

On a cold, wet morning like this morning, isn't it nice to turn your thoughts to warm, sunny days, long hikes and spectacular mountain views? To remember how good the sun felt on your face, when the trials and tribulations of daily life seemed to be a million miles away?

Amazingly, this shot was taken only a couple of weeks ago, as central Europe basked in the unseasonably warm temperatures of an Indian summer, just as autumn was coming fully into blaze. You might say it was the best of both worlds, and we'd be inclined to agree.  :D

We spent a couple of days hiking in the Tatras, before returning to Krakow for a gig. It was only a long weekend - just 5 days in all - but we managed to pack quite a bit in. The full story and lots more photos are on my blog - please click on the link below.

I hope you enjoy it, and I'd love to get any questions or feedback.

All the best

Great TR with superb photos.
Spent two weeks walking between and from the refuges in July this year and absolutely loved it. Sorry that I missed the church in Zakopane though.
Amazing what you fitted in to such a short break

That's a great TR and photos GP.  Having never visited Poland I didn't realise it has such stunning mountain scenery.

That's a beautiful photo of yours too Jac.

Nice photo! We have been to Morskie Oko in the past - a beautiful place, but we didn't have the chance this time round. I think we'd like to go back for longer next time, try to go a bit further afield.

Yes, it's good scenery! The Tatras may be small but they are perfectly formed!

Thanks, Tracey!

What has amazed me about these photos is that they were taken on my mobile phone! I would never have guessed that the quality could be as good as it is - most of my efforts on old phones (and my work phone, which is a certain fruit-related brand) have been pretty terrible in terms of quality, but these have turned out surprisingly well!  :D

Cheers

Bah humbug - I'm frequently frustrated by people getting better pics on their mobiles than I do with my camera. >:(
I know - just get a new mobile - but I think it's really down to the eye of the operator.
