Siberia's Lake Baikal Traverse World Record!

My pal and fellow Spoine Racer Mike Stevenson from Wigan has just broken the world record for his solo unsupported full traverse of Siberia's Lake Baikal!He had problems early on when his stove burst into flames inside his tent, and upon throwing it out, burnt through a guide line and caused a rip in the tent fabric.The next day he took time out and got his needle and thread to work and with some tape managed a successful repair. He was down in spirit at this point and faced with strong headwinds in the minus 15C weather, was dispondent. However after a good following day his spirits lifted and he went from strength to strenth.He managed some amazing distance the last 4 days and became successful in his attempt!While he was away I did a big job at his house. His partner Lauren was very worried having heard that a guy had fallen through the ice. It has not been as deeply frozen as usual and some trucks had come to grief, as it there is a trucking route along it in the Winter.Anyway I thought I'd share it with you all.
