I suppose if the grips are still ok it might be worth repairing them, getting the sole replaced for, say Vibram ones is very expensive mind you.  Araldite would probably be better than Superglue. I repaired my last Scarpa SLs with Araldite, although it was just where the rubber of the sole attached to the leather at the toe.

The soles are fine, thanks. Haven't worn down, or leaked once.  Just the stitching that has come loose.

I'll take them to a cobblers tomorrow, and wait patiently for them to be fixed - I feel like a relative has to go into hospital for an operation  ;D
