That tunnel is fascinating, so I googled it. I found a video taken from a boat going through it. It's surprisingly crowded! I wouldn't volunteer for this.

Thats a great video . !!

I notice it was taken in August , which would account for the amount of boats running through it. Parts of UK canals get very busy with pleasure boating during the holiday months .

When the narrow boats were drawn along by horses in the 1700`s the boats had to be unhitched from them and the crew or professional leggers lay back downwards on planks of wood then legged the boats through by walking along the wall of the tunnels and push the boat through .The horses were walked over land to meet their boat at the opposite portal .  I did read somewhere though that poles were sometimes used to push the boats through...maybe as in Venice.

A night under silnylon. Doesn't have the same ring to it.

I think there’s a lot to be said for a bit of tranquility and a slower pace. Canals typify this. Nice shots.

Going through that tunnel was interesting enough by video - not my idea of fun. Awful to imagine those two young lads in the water in pitch darkness.
Lovely peaceful warm summer  O0
So many paths yet to walk, so little time left

I took another amble along the Birmingham & Worcester canal near Hopwood today. Glorious sunshine .

A night under silnylon. Doesn't have the same ring to it.

Sunsetting behind Shincliffe Village...

Peacocks, above my head, taking to the tree tops to roost for the night!

Is this at Coombe Hill NT ?, not visited there but read about the anthills. Reminds me of a place I used to visit a few years ago in Cambs, anthills everywhere. Great pic by the way, thanks.

Some nice shots folks  O0

G&P, that would be a path I would like to walk, a lovely composition and a very natural shot  O0

Love your canal boat shot too  :)

Love the reflections, if we went there it would be blowing a hoolie and tipping it down  :D

This is the same view with the ultra wide setting on my iPhone. I’m quite impressed. It’s probably going to save doing pano’s in the mountains.

Did you use some filters on the iPhone, or is this straight from the camera? The sky looks pretty dramatic, but the colours seem unrealistic - but maybe that was your aim.
