Walks in Malta
« on: 22:19:32, 17/11/14 »
Thought I would share some photos from recent walks in Malta. I shot this series during a two-hour walk in the vicinity of Mtaħleb and Miġra l-Ferħa on the west coast.

Good pix, thanks for showing them.  Are they cultivation terraces in the penultimate pic or an old defensive earthwork?

Thanks all. In the coming days I'll post photos of another walk I did recently. Geordie, I hope your friends enjoy themselves this time too. Strider, no, those are terraced fields but the hillocks do look unusual and I have found myself wondering whether they owe their origins entirely to natural processes.

Here are some photos from a more recent walk. This one covered the eastern part of the Victoria Lines. The Victoria Lines are a defensive wall built during the British colonial period on top of a geological fault line which cuts across Malta and divides the north from the south.

Lovely foties.  A fanatastic place.  :) :) O0

I've visited Malta once, for a day, and ended up on a short walk uphill.   The one thing I remember was that it was very hot and dry.  Not somewhere I could walk for hours and miles.

I suppose it depends what time of year you visit.

I never got to do any walking during my family holidays there, the lure of the sea and the snorkelling and diving on offer took up my time but after seeing your photos kukko, I wish I'd given it a go now.
roll on the weekend

I'm not going to post photos from every walk I do in Malta so I don't bore everybody's pants off. But these are worth sharing I think. They're from a walk in the Dingli Cliffs area two Saturdays ago.
