Thanks Richard. We both got injured (separately) so haven't been out much until recently. I'll suprise my partner with a trip to one of these soon.
Good to hear from you Rob, sorry to hear about your injuries though - take care! I'm resting a bashed knee at the moment.


I've recently been up into the wild country behind Skiddaw, and there is a Land Rover track running right into the heart of this country, from Peter House Farm north of Skiddaw, all the way up to Skiddaw House at the head of the wild Caldew valley, a really remote spot.



Skiddaw House is amongst those trees in the distance. Skiddaw itself is in the clouds to the right. This is NOT the track, by the way.

Been enjoying your photos of Helm Crag, Rob. I must get up there again - it was my first 'mountain', conquered at the age of 7!
