Iron Maiden singer competes in Grasmere fell race

MEMBERS of heavy metal giants Iron Maiden partied for three days in the Lake District and ran for the hills as part of a traditional event.
Heavy-metal musicians Bruce Dickinson and Dave Murray were in Grasmere for the wedding of manager Andy Taylor’s daughter Louise.
Louise got married to Mark Christie at a church ceremony in Grasmere but the wedding party and their guests took over the Wordsworth Hotel and spa for three days — where they were treated to  outdoor BBQs and rocked to a string of live bands from across the country.
And on Sunday lead singer Dickinson, who has sold 75m albums with Maiden, donned his sports gear and brought a smile to the face of locals by taking part in Grasmere Sport’s Guides Race — where he  came 161st out of 181.

Hi - He still is the lead singer for Iron Maiden, and a commercial airline pilot.

He's just been on Sky News - on the late business segment.

Cross my heart, that I didn't. I somehow knew it. I do like the older stuff of Iron Maiden, like Iron Maiden from 1981, favorite track is Running Free O0

Run to the Hills :)

Very apt.  ;D

Not sure "Daughter to the slaughter" was a Christmas number 1 though...

I loved 'Running Free' too.
Remember them playing/miming it on top of the pops!

Now I feel old.
