Back now from our trip and had a great time. We decided in the end to take the cable car up and down Monte Baldo and do some walks around the top. Having seen trip advisor reviews we made sure we were on the first cable car at 8am and did the easy, most popular walk first before the hoards headed up. We then did some other walks further away, coffee, lunch watching the paragliders, and then stood and watched some marmots, and by the time we headed back down the queue at the bottom to go up was about 90 mins!
Our preferred walking was from where we were staying in Castelletto di Brenzone, which was a quiet, old village, with lots of walking routes in the foothills of Monte Baldo. I can highly recommend the area for easy walking. We combined 2 of the nordic walking routes to make one long walk along the lake and along old mule tracks up in the hills.
