Slieve Binnian: the best walk in the Mournes
« on: 20:32:14, 03/03/19 »
Saturday's walk saw me take in Slieve Binnian, the third highest in the Mournes. Due to time constraints I decided upon a shorter route than usual. I would ascend to the south tor over looking the silent Valley and walk back instead of undertaking a circular traverse. Parking my car at Carrick Little I followed a minor road to the open moorland and followed the Mourne wall to the summit. As usual, it was very windy on the summit. Slieve Binnian is a popular walk with the company of other walkers guaranteed. Time taken was 3 hours. If anyone came to the Mournes for a one-off walk, Slieve Binnian is the mountain I'd recommend.
