Boot suggestions
« on: 10:36:21, 23/11/10 »
Hi guys, have a wee query for your recommendations.

I walked the West Highland Way this year and it was awesome, want to do it again next year.  I started with standard high boots, but after 3 days my achilles tendons were so sore i had to stop walking, miss a day, and then continue using normal trainers. Using the trainers the pain didnt get any worse, so im assuming it was the lack of movement of the boots which caused the pain.

Should i be purchasing lower boots, i.e. with the larger cutout at the rear for increased movement, or just walking trainers?

Cheers,
Dave

When you say 'sore' so you mean 'rubbed sore', or do you mean they were aching?
