Nine Day Pennine WAY
« on: 21:50:47, 14/09/08 »
Great story off another forum. The guy is 62 and managed to backpack the PW in nine days carrying a 30lb plus pack.He is a very experienced walker with continuous walks along both the Dales Way and Cumbria Way to his credit. He is also a member of the LDWA.Apparently it is the fastest time this year.

Mine too.Somehow I don't think I will ever be that dedicated.I mean leaving the bunkhouse in Horton at 2.40am! My idea would be to get up at 8am,saunter to the cafe, have breakfast, then a nice steady walk to Hawes before spending the rest of the afternoon in another cafe.

One of the times I did the pennine way we stopped at Hawes, then walked to the Green Dragon, had too much of a big breakfast, had to camp there, then did the same thing the following day!

Must be a record - 2 days to get from Hawes to past the Green dragon!
