Berghaus walking boots - HELP!
« on: 15:13:01, 12/01/09 »
Hi everyone!
First post on here - so here goes!  A couple of years ago, I bought a pair of Berghaus brown leather, goretex lined walking boots off ebay.  The sole seems to have a groove for Yeti gaiters, at least, on the base of the sole it says "Yeti patented system."
On the inside of the tongue it says, "K9  CKS MMA, STORM LEA GTX."  It has a brass type/metal thing  near the lace-ups with "Goretex" written on it.
The sole is very rigid - but I have nothing to compare it with.
I have tried looking these boots up on the net but only get a fabric "storm" boot.
Question:  What boot do I have as I want to buy some crampons for winter hill walking?    Also, are they ideal for higher routes in Lakes and Snowdonia?  Any help will be most appreciated.

Cheers

Best bet is to go into a store and try some crampons with the advice of a store assistant to make sure your boots are suitable and the the fit is right. You can then note the ones you want and look them up on the net.
