Louwoo -           924 miles
Slogger             765 miles
Ron6632 -        539 miles
gatebuilder -     458 miles
peapod21 -       403.7 miles
Summit.            236 miles
Cnicht -             203 miles
Alewife -            198 miles
Ruth.                 51.5 miles

Finished the 1000 on the 29th then added the last miles of 2016 on 31st with an 11 mile walk over the Malvern Hills. We could have been anywhere, so foggy couldn't see a thing :(
Not sure about this year yet, I've missed not cycling much in 2016 in order to keep getting walks in (I've only counted mileage when I've actually gone outside and walked somewhere rather than using the overall daily mileage that my Garmin fitness tracker gives based on daily step count)

I have done a bit over the 1000 but didn't bother to add it in. I will be doing it again starting Jan 1st.

Update. Out of 64 starters, 21 of my blog readers have passed the 1000 mile mark, I'm proud of them. Now we start again and 50 are signed up to it. Here we go again.

I finished the year on 1251 miles.  I'm not sure I'll do it next year, I would like to do a bit more cycling, and maybe concentrate a bit more on height gain than mileage while walking.  I'm fine with distance but still pretty slow uphill.
But after all the seasonal excess, I'd better start doing something!

Well done all!
Just missed the 1000 mile target but really happy with the total.  Quite a few times during the year we opted for longer lower level walks rather than heading higher.  Planning to do a few more ridge walks this year 😀

I'm still involved with this years Challenge. As of this morning I have managed 677 'boots on' miles. So 323 to go.

Not counting every step, 'fit bit' style, this year. Only logging mileage where I have specifically set out to walk, almost entirely dog walks.

Actually, boots are not a requirement for boots on miles. To qualify it must be a planned walk, and last at least 15 minutes.

Like Andy i am doing the 1000 mile challenge too  and the rules are up to you how you count your miles. I count miles that I walk when making the decision to walk (rather than car or public transport) including as part of the commute, dog walking and the the more enjoyable country walking.
Good luck  O0
