Don't feel too bad I think that they are "ONLY" going at 4 mph now!  So where will the leaders be when the Spiners start tomorrow - I thought Malham at the start but could the leaders will be on the way to Horton?

I live near the PW. Heading up to Pinhaw Beacon tonight to watch them through. But can't work out when they will arrive. :D

That is about 62 miles from the start so I guess they will be there very late this evening if averaging 4 mph.  However the winner last year took 28 hours to get to Hawes i.e. 106 miles so you may be spending the night up there however, from memory, the conditions were particularly bad last year.  So keep a look out on the tracker nearer the time.

Either the route has eased or they have sped up (or I calculated wrongly last time) but I make it that they are going at over 5mph.  Just over 28 miles in 5 1/2 hours!

"One of the guys at the front,Simon Bourne is a former Decaman world champion......760 lengths of a swimming pool, around 1250 miles cycling with around 250 miles of running to finish it off".

Says it all really if correct. The record could be well broken even with the extra mile or two. Plus his "running partner" seems no slouch. ::)

Took me two days to get to Hebden, they'll be there shortly and they've only been going for 8 hours!

It could be the climb out of Hebden Bridge that is slowing them to under 5 mph.  However they can't be tired as they have only been going 9 hours!

No experience with the parking on race day but it should take the leaders around 2 hours to reach the snake road. The Challenger started around an hour ago and the leaders are now close to Mill Hill (0920).
Wow doesn't give me much time to get from the start round to snake pass does it!
"if in doubt, flat out"
