If you mist this watch it on iPlayer fantastic. The cinematography is superb the music's good and no BS narrative. Everything the ch5 Ben Nevis programme wasn't.

I would agree with the Post about this programme.
A coming together of Robert MacFarlane's words spoken by the bad guy in the film of the English Patient, amazing soloing on wild rock and much more highlighted by music from many composers....slices of Piano and Violin concertos  from Beethoven.

Great things are done when women and mountains meet.

I enjoyed this - some of the shots are just breathtaking and were an affirmation of my decision many yaers ago that rock climbing is not for me.  Some strange lines in the commentary, though I love Dafoe's voice - all in all a good watch.

Loved the music, I thought it was very well matched to the scenery.
However, like pdstsp, it reminded me why I have never tried rock climbing, some of the shots gave me vertigo even though I was sitting comfortably in an armchair.

Yes loved episode1 of Mountain.  Just made me want to return to the mighty Ben Nevis.  I should have been there in June but still recovering from injury. :( Looking forward to episode 2.

Agreed - I think that this one was a one off.

It's a series of four about mountains around the world. I don't think this was either the first or last programme in the series.
It's simple - one foot in front of the other.

AFANASIEW - I think you may be confusing this programme with the series recently shown on Ch 5.  The BBC4 one is a one-off - mingling some commentary with music, no interviews etc.  Great watch.

The programs I caught was actually, episode 2 of World's greatest mountains?  So different to the one the op is talking about.  Will try and find it online and give it a go.😁
