Some interesting views there Lee.  The padlock thing is a strange one - I first came across it about seven years ago in Moscow where one of the bridges was festooned with them - all newly weds apparently came down and put a padlock on the bridge as a sign of their undying love.  I have now seen it in many places  including Albert Dock here in Liverpool, but I have no idea where it originated.

I first saw them on the bridge at Bakewell...but they're everywhere now.

Aye, a strange phenomenon. I know in some places they have been removed as the weight was causing structural issues.
