Looks like a lovely walk, nice pics pleb O0 I've been down that How Stean Gorge but I think it was free when I was there. It was a long time ago mind.

Tis a lovely walk. Somebody described it as "a beautiful wilderness".
Not supposed to be free at the gorge nowadays! Raises an interesting point about charging for walking about a certain area................think they would say its really for the rent of the torch n helmet for looking in the cave.

Good photos of a generally neglected area, som e interesting geology too.
Our log notes from 2002 say it was £2.50 to access the gorge back then.

Nice set of pictures, Pleb. O0 Nice to see the landscape looking green and lush again, the fields were really parched and yellowed around here when we had the heatwave earlier in the summer.
