As a word of caution, the Cynhorion & Moel Elio routes, are very exposed to the prevailing winds, and from start to finish, you are at the mercy of the bad weather.
The Moel Elio region including the routes up and down Moel Cynhorion  is totally on grass, so there is little chance of slipping on wet rocks.
The only issue with Moel Elio and Cynhorion, is that you are at the total mercy of the wind and rain.

Ive traversed the region numerous times, and its a gem of a walk in fine weather, a bit up and down, but all on safe ground,  but when the wind is blowing and its raining, its a different matter.

OK...so what route would you suggest?

We've all got decent footwear, wet weather gear etc and I have a bothy bag if things get unpleasant and we need a break from it.

Just looking at the map. We're staying in Betws Garmon so could potentially walk up from our front door, which would have some appeal. The major named route from there is the Range Path. Any good? Looks kind of short and sharp.

Another suggestion on a family walks site was up Pyg down Miners? Looks like it might have good views of Crib Goch?

As your based in Bettws Garmon, its just over a mile up the road back towards The Snowdon Ranger Youth hostel.
If the weather is iffy and unsettled, then use the Snowdon Ranger path to the summit.
For most of its length, you are fairly protected from the elements, and its only when you reach the railway line and junction of the PYG & Miners track, that the prevailing weather will get you.
Once you reach this point on the mountain, its  20-25 min to the cafe and summit, so the weather has to be pretty nasty for you not to make the summit.

If the weather is nice, and your based in Bettws, then drive down the road towards Waenfawr in the Caernarfon direction.

When you climb the hill from the bridge leading into Waunfawr, take your second turning on your right, past the school.

This hill after two miles climb, will take you to Bwlch Y Groes, and its perfectly safe to park your car there in the large clearing.

You will see a gate straight ahead on the hillside in front of you, around 200yds ahead, and just before you reach the gate, the path leading to Moel Elio is on your right.

Cross your fingers for a good day, as the Elio ridge is a great outing, not very long, but the views towards Snowdon on a fine day, are magnificent.

As your based in Bettws Garmon, weather permitting, this would make a magnificent circular walk of around 9 to 10miles in length.

Good luck
