Such consistency and determination - to be admired.

Oh no Ridge! After all that dot watching!!!

Carol Morgan is definitely separated from the group she was with overnight - hope she continues and is successful.

Morning all.

Good to hear, ForestView. Will you be open for all participants going through?

Simon Gfeller second and John Knapp third. I’m not sure yet what the gap was between them.

Looking at the FB feed, while i sup my morning cuppa, I think there was a bit of a scramble for deadlines to leave Alston. Day off today so I can have built free dot watching fun!

The ones who have just left Alston have 19 hrs to reach and leave Bellingham but at least the trail is well marked for them now by the front runners.

That must be about 2 miles an hour just to arrive in 19 hours which in those conditions and after 4 days walking is going to be tough.

Then when they leave Bellingham they have 8 hours to reach and leave us then 16 hours get to KY  with nowhere except the huts to sleep. Thats brutal when you are fresh let alone as wrecked as these guys are.

I did 42 in 2 days in May, and I was knackered.  Unfortunately I was only at Hebden by then so still had the rest to go  ;D

They are incredible athletes aren't they? To be able to keep going through deep snow like that for hours on end, amazing.

The walkers/runners who have yet to reach Greenhead have got to average at least 1.8mph to finish by 0800hrs on Sunday.I doubt if its possible because they will have to sleep for a few hours and that will up the needed average to unrealistic levels of at least 2.08 mph.Hard to average over that terrain in dry conditions, let alone after walking 200 miles in a few days and faced with snow, ice and extreme cold.

Even Pav took 13 hours to get from Byrness to KY and that was after a long rest at Forest View.

Carol has taken over 13 hours and she still has to get to Auchope Cairn, so it isn't getting any easier.  Simon who finished 2nd took 16 hours.
