TR - Minions, Cornwall

A few photos from a short walk we did on holiday in Cornwall last week.

The route was from Minions village carpark, through the Hurlers stone circles, over the Cheeswring and then down  to Henwood and back through the fields to Minions.

Hurlers Stone Circles, invaded by Belted Galloways.

I think that this is the rock formation which is actually the Cheesewring

But there a quite a few stacks and as many as possible have to be climbed.

None of us took any photos of the rest of the walk which is a shame as it was very nice. We did have to ford a small stream as the footbridge was closed and also shout to a guy who was in a milking parlour to find out where the path through the farm buildings went. Only when we emerged at the other end of the path did we discover a sign telling us that this whole section was closed due to the bridge being out of action. There definitely wasn't a sign when we joined the path.

A pleasant walk on a very hot day followed by good food and beer in the Cheesewring Inn.

Thanks ladies.
Including prehistoric remains on a route is a way to get my wife to join me walking.

Great to see some one else enjoying our local routes.  I walk the route you described regularly. I love that little bit of Bodmin moor.  Did you get into the heratige center and see the pictures of the solid gold cup, now in British Museum?  It was found in Rillaton Barrow, which was on your route and not that long ago, for all you treasure hunters out there

Thanks BuzyG.
We saw the barrow but didn't go to the visitors center.
