Scandale Pass from Hartsop query

I'm thinking of an A to B walk from Patterdale to Ambleside via Scandale Pass. I intend to walk to Hartsop village before climbing to Scandale Pass via Caiston Glen. Is this route straightforward? Are they any technical difficulties or awkward river crossings? Thanks, Henry

You'll have no problems Henry.
I would walk to the west of Brothers Water and follow the path all the way up past Hartsop Hall and the foot of High Hartsop Dodd.

The walk through the woods along the west shore of Brotherswater is beautiful, and all too short.

What Ridge said.
Having recently walked from Rosthwaite to Grasmere, I can recommend these walks over the passes - still amazing views and great workouts. After walking high horseshoes, you get another perspective from the valley and pass routes.
