Any idea what might have caused this on my walk in the Peak District on Sunday? [pics included on link]:

I would go to see your GP, especially if it spreads, it may not be anything to do with anything you touched during your walk.

Absolutely
I don't want to worry you, but
If you start having trouble breathing go to the A and E
As April says it could be an allergic reaction to medication or something else

If its hand and not arm (or elsewhere) it sounds like something you touched. Maybe u can get to a walk in centre?

Thanks for the suggestions so far - fortunately it's not very bad at all at the moment.

The blister looks like what you get fir touching the sap of hogweed.
Or carrot stems or parsnip stems ( sap of)They are seemingly distantly related to hogweed  and can cause blisters in some people.

I only know this because of my interest in gardening and was watching a you tube video about this just last night.
Too little, too late, too bad......

UPDATE: It probably wasn't an allergy:

I'm glad its sorted. Mind you, irritations can be a nuisance. I have to be careful and only use deodorant that is aluminium free, otherwise I itch all over. I can't walk through my local Boots perfume depart, the scents make me feel as if I'm going to have difficulties breathing. I now hold my breath and walk through as quickly as I can. The only chemical that really affects me badly is sugar soap. I once touched some with my hand and my skin felt like it was in tensly burning! Luckily, I've never come in contact with the stuff since.

One of my drinking mates from our University, its his specialised field, has always said the ordinary household chemicals and stuff we put on our skins are always the great unknowns in our lives. Some have been researched properly but most haven't according to him.

I would still see a doctor about this.A friend had a similar condition after working on his garden for several hours. That was five years ago and he is now seriously ill.The condition turned out to be Bullous Pemphigoid,a disorder of the immune system and nothing to do with working on the garden.
