For this week-end's walk I drove to Rostrevor to take in 3 peaks overlooking Carlingford Lough. Starting from Kilbroney Park I picked up the forest track through Kilbroney Forest to Fiddlers Green. Emerging from the forest I decided to take in Slieveban as my first peak. This is the star of the show as the views across Carlingford Lough from there are sublime. After a short break, I made the straightforward traverse to Slievemeen which, if it wasn't mapped, doesn't seem like a mountain. The final peak on the round was Slievemartin which has a trig point. I noticed rain approaching from the eastern Mournes and had to get the waterproofs on when descending. I completed the circular walk by picking up Cloughmore trail back to the car park. Total distance was 10km.
