Thanks Mel, a pleasure  :)

The Langdale Pikes are very rewarding, but the climbs up from Langdale are vicious! As are the descents.

Great TR.  O0

I’m not that familiar with The Lakes, and I’ve only done the L Pikes a few times, but it’s another mile-for-mile area that’s very hard to beat. There’s something for everyone. Stickle Ghyll is beautiful; Stickle Tarn is sublime; there’s Jacks Rake if you want a challenge, and easier routes if you don’t; the view from Pike of Stickle has to be one of the best in the Lakes. Might be a bit busy for some, but you can’t blame people for flocking to such a great spot.

Thanks Beefy, MKPotato  :)

Yes, you get a lot of interest per mile on the Langdale Pikes, as you do in the Ogwen Valley and Northern Rhinogs. Steep though - took us 4 hours to do 4 miles.

That climb up Stickle Ghyll is not to be underestimated. Considering it’s very popular route, it’s definitely not an easy stroll!
