Hiya Dan, I live in North Hampshire, we have a rolling Countryside and a Mountain of our own.. A lump called Beacon Hill, it is a mound of Chalk 261m above sea level and takes a Calf muscle busting 20mins to claim the summit...

I have been to the Brecons 3 times but only to walk once, the other two were for work.. I must make more effort to return, it's only a two hr drive after all... You lucky you is..
Gone for a walk, back in a bit..

Hello Dan,

Welcome from Twickenham in SW London.  If we are talking about major hill climbs, my highest local mountain is Richmond Hill, towering some 56 metres above sea level.  I must get out more  ;) . I have walked in the BBs fairly recently though, and climbed Pen y Fan a couple of times. :)

Largie you need to sort that out how have you not been up pen y fan 😉

Tenmilesplus I may have to come claim that beacon as well at some point.

Johnwalker great hills in BB, think I've scaled the dizzying heights of Richmond hill a fair few times while visiting friends in London next time your in Wales have a look at the black mountains next to the beacons got some lovely walking up there.

Gunwharfman that just means you get to walk for longer 😉

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't been to the Black Mountains since I was about 10 (more than 60 years ago, on holiday with my parents).  Probably first mountains I ever saw :) Must go back soon! It would be handy for Offa's Dyke Path too, another of my much delayed plans  :(
