Title: Great day on Grasmoor
Post by: henryb on 17:17:55, 14/11/17
Having climbed Causey Pike, Barrow, OUterside and Scar crags on previous trips to the NW fells, I've always wanted to venture further into the coledale fells. I'm always attracted to the highest fell in each region and Grasmoor became the main objective of the day. I wanted to avoid ridges so my route saw me walking from Keswick to Braithwaite before picking up the foot trail in between Outerside and Grisedale pike to Coledale Hause. From there I would head towards Wandope before branching of to Grasmoor. Unfortunately, I was repelled by strong winds before reaching the summit of Grasmoor and had to fall back to Wandope (not literally!) before descending the Coledale valley to Braithwaite. The undoubted highlight was the views of the southern and western fells from Grasmoor. Wandope photos to follow later.

Superb pictures, Henry  O0

Probably my favourite part of the Lakes around there. The dusting of snow on the ground really transforms the light in the photos.

Thanks adalard, Grasmoor became one of my favourites last week-end and the snow and sunshine really contributed to a great day out in the fells :)

Nice photos henry  O0 You say you enjoyed the descent but I don't like the loose path very much that leads down to the mine road  ;D It improves once you are on the mine road though the last mile or so to Braithwaite is a good walk  O0 Sorry, I've put the last bit on the wrong thread  ;D I will put it on the other one now  :)
