Good luck with the chair, but if you have as much joy with it as I did mine it’ll be relegated to the bottom of your kit box before you know it.I remember the Helinox chairs coming out and thinking what a great lightweight idea. A shiny new toy, I need that……..why???
I’d happily sit anywhere or if wet pop the bum mat out but no, I’d decided a camping chair was what I needed on backpacking trips.
Although it’s light it’s still too heavy and bulky to realistically take as a luxury item IMO. Not only that but unless the grounds rock hard one of the legs at least is going to dig into the ground making it unbalanced and uncomfortable. It’s also so low slung that for a person of a mature age I literally had to fall out of it before I got up. Not a great look.
The ideas great but the reality less so, in fact along with the Grayl water press it is in the top two of WTF did I buy that for?. If I’d seen this thread earlier I’d have sold you mine for a tenner.

Can help thinking, if folk have to improvise something to make the chairs work, there is a design fault in the original.

Think that I will just stick to sitting on a rock or grassy bank. Or, in summer, lazing on my multimat.

I was listening to You and Yours on Radio 4 this morning, and it's claimed that old point and shoot type cameras are making a comeback, and some models from years back are selling for some good sums of money.

One man claimed that they take better photos than mobile phone cameras.

I noticed this evening that 'Elli Hikes' on YouTube has put out a video all about her problems with Planter Fascitis and how she cured herself., with exercise and two different sized balls.

Thanks for the ideas, I've been trawling through YouTube this evening, six or seven ideas on there. I've made myself a prototype Tyvek groundsheet this evening and I'll try it out in our garden tomorrow. Our ground is wet and soft at the moment, so I'll see how it performs.

I've seen one idea that is just based on wide shoulder bag straps forming an 'X' under the chair, I like the look of that one.

I'll keep this trip report away from my son for now, he's having a go at his first fell/trail run on Saturday.

Can you not get the same effect using 4 lightweight ash trays, one under each foot.  That is how I stopped furnidents.https://images.allianceonline.co.uk/Products/GWSA00012.jpg
And more robust
