After the mist cleared on the old man of Coniston I headed in the direction of Dow Crag. I had considered Brim fell but with the ridge narrowing and having done that fell before, Dow crag won the vote. There was an initial descent followed by a straightforward ascent. My favourite panorama was Coniston water beyond Goat's water. Following the summit ridge I descended to Buck Pike before picking up the walna scar road back to Coniston. Took me 4 hours to complete the walk of about 8 miles.
