Perhaps this is pushing it a little being the 'walking forum' but I did promise three reports; this being the second.
The Cneifion Arete is a little slice of superb scrambling hidden away above Cwm Idwal. Ropes etc are recommended but I have read of those who do it without

Excellent photos, especially the arete itself, they give a great sense of scale.
-
Ropes! I'd need scaffolding.
Great pictures.
-
Great pics and it sounds like you both had a fantastic time but my GOD! Yikes! Blimey. Gosh that's steep..And other words to express sheer terror (on my part just looking at those pics) :D

A grand route - one that I chickened out of many years ago!
-
Crikey that looks scary not something I'd want to attempt even if I was lighter. Still I suppose with all the right equipment you're actually pretty safe. Not for me though!

Those fine images brings back pleasant memories from over fifty years ago when, on an early holiday in the hills camped beneath the the Milestone buttress, we spent some fine days out in this part of Wales on climbs around the Idwal/Tryfan area.
Very pleasant climbing and at that time a wee Tea hut that sold delicious meat pies at the bend in the road coming up from the slate village.

Wonderful stuff Dave - I think about two steps too far for me, but it looks a wonderful route.
Some great photos too - I could sit and look at the Ogwen and Nant Ffrancon and the Tryfan pictures all day. Thanks for sharing.
