Perfect day on the hills?
« on: 12:58:55, 14/02/13 »
Might just begin with meeting up with a select group of friends, looking up at the now 1200ft Tryfan!
1200 Tryfan is to be climbed in freezing temperatures but thankfully there is no wind at this point. At around 6000ft we take a break in glorious sunshine and we all enjoy the rum truffels being passed around.
Once at the summit, which we have to ourselves, we look across to the airy arete (think grib goch on steroids) which must be crossed. with drops on either side over 1000ft   we carefully make our way across whiles noting some cloud's forming in the distance. And feeling an increasing breeze as we reach the end of the arete we search for a decent spot to camp out for the night.
camping is always fun especially as we all have a bottle of something to warm us up.
After a good nights sleep all packed and ready to go the weather turns in a vicious manner. At this point we are all in full winter gear and battling the elements. given the terrible conditions we opt for a safe route down to the hotel whilest planning tomorrows adventure.
Just sayin :P
