Recently walked 3 dingles on the Long Mountain, Shropshire and was surprised to find the bluebells so far forward. They are only just starting to show but this is adding a hint of blue to the carpet of Wood Anemones making very striking views through the trees if the light is right.
A worthwhile hunt is for Bluebell locations in steep sided hard woodland, such as the dingles Mrs BWW and I were exploring on Sunday, because there will be a longer season. The south facing banks come earlier, leaving a later display for the north facing sides.
Another unusual combination seems to be Blackthorne Blossom and Bluebells, hope we are going to find the more usual combination of Hawthorne blossom and Bluebells.
