This looks a really nice walk.  I like the variety in terrain especially the wooded areas O0

Great photo's Tracey, it's looking a bit different to when I was there in the autumn. Love the green fields.

Wendy and I did this very same walk just a few weeks ago; looking at your photos though, everywhere appears to have greened (if that's a word) up a fair bit since we were there. We really enjoyed this route, even though we couldn't walk the full length of Stanage Edge, because part of it had been close for the ground breeding birds. We will deffo be back to explore more of the Peak District. Thanks for posting your smashing pics.

Excellent report with some smashing pictures. I've never done that route around Stanage, but one for serious consdieration in future.

This year seems especially good for Buttercups, the fields have been packed with them. An example from the fields around Haggside on Saturday.

These boots were made for walking so that's just what I'll do. After I've re-proofed them of course...

That's a lovely pic too Dazza 8) .....and yes, there are loads of Buttercups this year.  The blaze of yellow looks gorgeous against green leaves and blue skies! O0

Wish I'd done this one today, i tried out a 13miler local one, the first 3 miles were lovely through woods and near a reservoir, the next 10 (well i cut it short through boredom) were penury in the heat and just on moorland, i hate moorland yawn yawn yawn  :(   Nice weather though  ;)

Hi Chris.  We did this route on the Peak Weekend I organised last August but you couldn't make it that time.

I'd happily do it again (and arrange a second walk for the Sunday), if there was enough interest.

I'll be arranging another weekend sometime soon too, with new walks that we haven't done yet.

Throw a few dates forward and we'll see what happens.

Tracey :)

Hi Judi,

If we did arrange a weekend, it would be great to meet you :)

Erm, I do use a point and shoot, yes! LOL  Glad you liked the photos, although I wish I'd taken more of Stanage Edge now.

Tracey :)
