hello from a newbie
« on: 17:15:16, 29/04/09 »
hi everyone,
not only am i new to this forum but i'm pretty new to the whole hillwalking thing.

my family and i (wife, 2 daughters aged 7 and 5) live south of middlesbrough - about 3 miles from the cleveland way, and i have decided to take advantage of our location to walk the entire length of the cleveland way.

while this sounds like a tall order for someone new to hillwalking, i should qualify by saying that we don't intend to do it all in one go. instead we are chalking off bits of it at a time by doing circular walks that incorporate bits of the cleveland way. it's quite time consuming and we have to do it this way as we only have 1 car, but it's satisfying and even though we have only started we have already seen some stunning parts of the country, and all on our doorstep.

nearly everyone we have met has been friendly (it helps that we take our basset hound along who gets loads of attention) and we look forward to getting out there and seeing so much more.

many thanks

frazer
