They're never gory. I wouldn't send anything that had blood or guts spilling out. I just carried on from when I sent the pic of the badger asking if he knew what it was and he thought it was a rat.  ;D  To be fair, it was on its back. Anyway, back to pics of fluffy and cute living creatures.

Another dead animal 'psycho' here :)  only because it allows you to look in detail at an animal, in particular the plumage of birds.
So many paths yet to walk, so little time left

I won't post it here as some people may not like it but can send in PM if people want, but when I walked the Norfolk Coast path, I came across a colony of seals and noticed one which had died. It had rope wrapped around its neck and tail. The smell was awful, not a pretty sight but I was fascinated.  I wouldn't say it was a highlight of the trail but I will never forget it. Seen lots of dead squirrels which have been caught by dogs and once even saw a Magpie attacking and killing a baby woodpecker that had fallen from its nest. Maybe a new topic should be started but with a warning....... Crikey, I am becoming a psycho.

Is it wrong that I send photos of animal corpses to my son on my travels? I'm too slow with moving animals lol. I have an impressive collection including a mummified rat, a flat frog and a badger. The badger was sad of course, but on a return trip I was actually excited when I spotted its claws and teeth in the same spot a year later when with my son. I wish we'd grabbed a claw as a keepsake.

OK, I'm sounding a bit of a psycho. I really am not, in fact I'm an animal lover, but just thought it was a bit humorous to send them to my teenage son to remind him what he is missing. He certainly wouldn't be interested in the view. He hasn't been as impressed as I thought he would be though.

Walking through an alleyway today came across a guy putting dead pheasants and rabbits from the back of his van into a bucket... roadkill, feed for the badgers! A new one for me.

Walked out to Dales Voe this morning.
On one side of the road is the Oil Rig Decommissioning yard.

On the other side of the road I heard some familiar whistling.

I concentrated on the best side of the road.

They dried themselves, before disappearing up a drain pipe

Amazing photos Watershed, did they know you were there or did they just ignore your presence?

Aww poor seal. That sounds horrid. Completely forgot I posted in here. My son suffered a bad accident at school involving an eye so been distracted with hospital stay and appointments. Pm me the pic if you want.  :)

Thanks Guys.

The wind was blowing in the right direction so they didn't smell me. I hid behind a road barrier so they weren't aware I was there.

This is them in the water before they came ashore.

I think the mother was tickling her cub here as it appears to be laughing
